Last year, my friend got me Silent Hill 3 for my birthday (THANKS AKIRA! ), but I hadn't gotten around to playing it because the family is almost always watching the TV or something, and I don't know how I can hook the PS2 onto my monitor (or if there is even a way to do that).

I finally got around to starting it, though...only for 15 minutes, but it's something. I played Silent Hill 2 (somehow), and I liked it a lot. Upon starting this, I feel like I'll like it a lot, too.

I don't scare easily when it comes to blood and gore in video games and the like (dunno about in real life, though), and as such a person, I must say that this game IS kinda spooky.

I think it's mostly because I'm not used to the controls.
At first I didn't know how to attack. The book says "press X" and I pressed X and Heather just STOOD there as a dog...thing just gnawed at her leg, and I'm like "SHITFUCKWEKRJLTHKWER!!!!! NOOOO!!!!!!! STABITHEATHERWHYAREN'TYOUSTABBINGITAFWLKEJRLWJER!!!!!!"

And then I realized I had to press R2. *smacks forehead*

I dunno if it's the TV or the game settings, though. I can't see ANYTHING. I looked through a walkthrough just now to see if I missed picking up the flashlight somewhere. In the walthrough, the hallways weren't as dark, and no, I didn't really miss anything except that one door I couldn't find because it was freaking pitch black. DX I'm gonna have to look into that...

Anyways...yeah.

As for the protagonist herself, Heather makes me laugh.

Claudia: I am Claudia.
Heather: SO WHAT?!

and later...

Heather: *mixes bleach and detergent in an attempt to kill...moths?*

...Oh, Heather...

This contrasts greatly to James from SH2:

Eddie: I didn't do it! He was like that when I got here! (referring to the mutilated corpse in the kitchen)
James: Hi. I'm James.

and later...

James: *sticks his hand down a dirty toilet*

...Oh, James...

Anyways. I hope I get more chances to play this game... Oh horror, how I love you.
